Finca La Montesa is a wine made with grapes of the 95% Garnacha varieties and 5% other traditional varieties collected from the vineyards of La Montesa, Parajes de Valtomelloso, Valfrio and Valviejo and Monte Yerga from September 28 to October 20. It is hosted by the P.D.O. Rioja.

For its proper refinement, this wine should be kept at a maximum temperature of 14º C. Optimum consumption time from the third / fourth year in bottle. It has an aging potential for more than 20 years.

Finca La Montesa has a very limpid and bright ruby color. On the nose it is seductive and intense, with floral aromas and berry fruits that are combined with notes of aromatic herbs such as thyme and fresh tobacco with light spicy final memories of pink pepper and cedar. In the mouth it is like a balm, like a wave of fruit with a voluminous and very silky texture that envelops the palate. Good freshness brings perfect balance and harmony. Intense and pleasant final memories of currants, raspberries and a hint of fennel.

Bodegas Palacio Remondo

Palacios Remondo winery is a family business founded in 1945 located in the town of Alfaro (La Rioja). Between its 110 hectares and its 150 years of hard work, they produce all Palacios Remondo wines with personality signed by the renowned and well-known Álvaro Palacios. La Montesa is its Grenache vineyard par excellence. The property extends over the areas of Valtomelloso, Valviejo and Valfrío, which form the vineyard of La Montesa. Other nearby places such as Las Mulgas and Quinón Valmira represent the most traditional and ancient viticulture of the family.

The vineyards are located at a maximum of 550 m above sea level. Rooting and viticultural tradition on its clay and calcium carbonate soils, where pebbles also emerge, even of volcanic origin. Mountainous, rugged soil with a clay-calcareous composition of little organic matter with abundant rolled stones and a characteristic petro-calcium background limits the vigor of the plants. The varieties planted are Garnacha (40%), Tempranillo (45%), Mazuelo and Graciano (15%).
