Las Nieves Butter Shop
The Las Nieves butter factory was founded in 1948 in Espinosa de los Monteros (Burgos), in a mountainous enclave in the southern foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains, at the northern tip of Burgos, bordering Vizcaya and Cantabria. In its beginnings, the Las Nieves butter factory was dedicated exclusively to the production of butter with pure cow’s milk. However, due to the improvement of the facilities, they launched the production of Edam type cheeses, pure sheep’s cheese, fresh cheese, white cheese, pateurized milk…

In 1987 they were awarded the “Golden Jar” in the 1st. Spanish Cheese Competition, organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters, in Madrid, and in 1988 and 1990 with the Bronze Medal, in the 2nd and 3rd International Cheese Tasting, held at the Barcelona Food Fair. In 1991 they received the Silver Medal at the EuroAlimentación International Fair. In 2002 and 2003, the Bronze Medal in the 6th and 4th National Cheese Competition “Premios Cincho”. In 2004 and 2006, for their part, they obtained the Gold Medal in the same Awards.
